Experimenting with three point lighting 1.1: How it is Used,

What have we have done so far?

We as a whole group have experimented with different lighting using the Key, back and the fill light, which is three-point lighting, we have created different atmospheres to create the mood and the theme of a scene experimentally. We created dark and shadowy backgrounds to make thriller and horror backgrounds. Here are a selection of images as proof to what we are doing with the lighting and what atmosphere it creates such as:

Normal (With Shadows)

This first image is a normal image, this lighting, in my opinion, would suit a sunset/evening scene as this creates a sort of orange/yellow sunset effect and I thought it would look nice for a quiet and peaceful scene. this scene uses three-point lighting which means all of the lightings is used for this scene.

Thriller (Interrogation scene)
This scene would be useful for interrogation scenes since it gives a dark and orange type of feel to the lighting and that there are two actors face to face. the dark setting would help make the scene feel more serious and in my opinion, this type of setting would give me thrills when there is a dark setting.

Horror (Dark)
There are two alternative shots of the horror dark scene, the first one is dark and where you can hardly see the face of a figure which gives it a chilling feel on the first one. not knowing what's lurking in the shadows gives a great tone for a horror shot.

Horror (Dark 2)
This is the second shot of the horror dark shot, the figure's face is more revealed but half of the face is in the dark backdrop, this shot is perfect for a horror movie if someone is approaching you since it gives a scary thriller feel.

Horror (Shadowy)
This alternative shot gives out a shadowy feel to the background, perfect for when someone is approaching you in a scene, the backlight is removed to create a shadowy feel to the scene.

Thriller (Shadow object)
This shot is a thriller based shot, the lighting is still dark and gritty but doesn't give out the horror vibes, this shot is similar to the second shot where it gives out the orange and dark vibe which it will be useful for an interrogation scene etc.
